“Lady Billows, the good lady herself, as played by Erin Rossington sang with admirable resonance.”
Albert Herring, 2022 - Opera Magazine

"Rossington did not disappoint. Her performance as the Countess was entertaining and, singing in Italian, Rossington sounded more assured, with clearer diction and greater depth (both psychological and in terms of vocal timbre). Rossington conveyed the complex emotions required of ‘Dove sono’ well."
Lucy Jeffrey, Seen and Heard International

A recent Associate Artist at Welsh National Opera (2024/25), she appeared as Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro and Cercatrice in Suor Angelica, and was featured as a soloist in WNO’s Opera Favourites and New Year Viennese concert tours. She returns to the company in Spring 2026 to cover Bronwen in Blaze of Glory! and tour nationally with Play Opera LIVE!. Erin’s portrayal of the Countess was described by Seen and Heard International as “assured… with clear diction and great depth — both psychological and in terms of vocal timbre,” and she was praised for her poignant delivery of the Act 3 aria ‘Dove sono’.
Her operatic credits include Micaëla (La Tragédie de Carmen) at Buxton International Festival, a role she covered for English National Opera last season; Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) for Opra Cymru; La Fée (Cendrillon by Viardot) for Buxton; and Ina in the world premiere of TIDE at the Aldeburgh Festival. A versatile concert artist, Erin performed the world premiere of Gareth Walters’ Can y Galon with the Carducci Quartet at the Gower Festival. She has appeared in recital at the Criccieth Music Festival, Rhyl Music Club, and across Wales, highlighting both standard repertoire and Welsh-language song.
Competition successes include 1st Prize in the Dunraven Singing Competition, the Sapphire Bursary from Bridgend Male Voice Choir, and the Towyn Roberts Scholarship at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. She was a semi-finalist at the Paris Opera Competition (2025), finalist in the Vincerò International Singing Competition (2023), and earlier won the International Voice of the Future at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod and the Elizabeth Harwood Memorial Prize at the RNCM.
Erin studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, graduating with First-Class Honours, before completing a Master of Music with Distinction at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where she also trained on the Opera School.
